Faculty, Staff & Students - Planned Systems Outage/Update         Wednesday, November 25th from 5:00pm to Midnight

FSC's Information Technology Department will be performing required system updates on the Employee & Student Login and Authentication System on Wednesday, November 25th from 5pm to Midnight.  

This will affect your ability to access most campus systems including but not limited to Microsoft 365 Email, One Drive, Office Apps, Teams), Google Apps (Gmail, Drive, Meet), Blackboard, Banner, SUNY Portal Services, Virtual Desktop, Network File Storage, Password Reset and any other service that requires you to log in with your Farmingdale account. 

During this time, we strongly encourage you not to try to access campus systems as you may be locked out of your account.

Technology FAQs

To further assist our faculty, staff & students, below you will find answers to frequently asked Technology questions.

What is myFSC:

  • The myFSC Dashboard is located in the top right-hand corner of the Farmingdale State College website. This dashboard is curated for Students, Faculty and Staff and has the latest information about what is going on around campus.  It also provides direct access to many important resources, including Email, Blackboard, OASIS, DegreeWorks, etc. These resources are located on the left navigation menu, once you are logged into myFSC. 

Do I have access to Office 365:

  • Farmingdale State College registered students and active faculty and staff have access to Microsoft Office 365.  Office 365 is a web-based subscription service that gives you anywhere-access to Microsoft Office tools and applications, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams and OneDrive.  Office 365 provides you a number of ways to access these  applications. They can be installed on your computer, opened through your web browser, or accessed from your mobile device.  You may register up to 5 devices for personal use of the Office 365’s suite of applications.  For more information, click here.

How to setup and use the Student VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure):

  • Two student VDIs have been setup so students can access their course software from home.  For information about the "Student-Desktop" and "Student-Specialized" VDIs, click here.

How do I log into my Farmingdale Email:

  • From a web browser, go to the student Email login page (gmail.farmingdale.edu) and enter your Farmingdale username and password.
  • You can also access your email from myFSC.

How do I find out my username:

  1. Log into OASIS (https://oasis.farmingdale.edu)
  2. Under "Personal Information", click on "View E-mail Addresses"

 

How to do I create/change my Email password:

  1. Go to the student Email login page (gmail.farmingdale.edu)
  2. Click on the "Student Password Reset" link
  3. Follow the instructions carefully

What do I do when I try to reset my password and I get an Enroll message or Invalid Answers:

Email the Helpdesk the below information stating the issue you are having:

  1. Your first and last name
  2. Your Farmingdale email username
  3. Your 6 digitbirthdate (mmddyy), followed by the last 4-digits of your Social Security Number
  4. Your Ram ID Number
  5. Your zip code
  6. The Error message

Will my password expire:

  • Yes, passwords expire every 120 days
  • Minimum password length is 8 characters
  • Old passwords cannot be reused                  

Where can I find out my RAM ID#?

  1. Log into OASIS:  https://oasis.farmingdale.edu
  2. Click on the Student Records tab
  3. Click on the View Student Information tab.
  4. Select the term to be viewed and the RAM ID# will be displayed in the top right-hand corner

I need to reset my OASIS PIN:

  • To reset your OASIS PIN, go to:  https://oasis.farmingdale.edu
  • Enter your RAM ID and leave the PIN field blank. 
  • Click "Forgot PIN" on the bottom. 
  • You will be presented with a security question which you setup already and after successfully answering it you will be prompted to change your PIN.
If you still experience issues, email the Helpdesk the below information stating you need an OASIS PIN reset:
  1. Your Full Name
  2. Your Ram ID
  3. Your 6 digit birthdate (mmddyy)
  4. Phone Number

What is the the maximum size for attachments:

  • 25 MB is the maximum size for attachments.

Can I keep my Farmingdale email account after Graduation:

  • Yes, you will be able to keep your Farmingdale email account after graduation.

What is Google Drive and how do I access it?

Google Drive is a cloud based file storage, with file sharing and collaborative editing.  You can access your files from any device including your computer, tablet and smartphone.  Google Drive also has several applications that lets you create Documents, Presentations, Spreadsheets, Forms and Drawings.

To access Google Drive, go to… http://drive.farmingdale.edu

Login using your Farmingdale email username and password (without @farmingdale.edu).

  2. It will ask for your extension
  3. Enter your password followed by #

How to change your Email password when using mail.farmingdale.edu External link:

  1. Click your name at the top left and select "My account"
  2. On the next page select "Manage security & privacy" and then "Password"
  3. The next screen will allow you to change your password

How to change your Email password when you're logged into the domain on your office PC:

  1. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del and then click "Change a password..."
  2. Type your old password, type your new password, type your new password again to confirm and press Enter
