Foreign Transcript Evaluation & Submission Guidelines
Students who have completed coursework outside the United States must have their foreign transcripts evaluated for U.S. educational equivalency by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
Both an official credential evaluation report and official transcripts are required for admission.
How to Get Your Transcripts Evaluated
- Visit the NACES website: www.naces.org
- Choose a member organization (for example, WES, ECE, or SpanTran).
- Determine which type of evaluation you need:
- If you are submitting college or university transcripts, request a course by course evaluation.
- If you are submitting high school transcripts, a general evaluation is sufficient.
- Follow the organization’s instructions to submit your academic documents.
- Request that the completed evaluation report be sent directly to our institution.
How to Submit Official Transcripts
In addition to the evaluation, you must also submit your official foreign transcripts using one of the following methods:
- Mailed directly from your school to our institution
- Brought in person by the applicant as a physical, original document with a raised seal or official stamp. Our staff will scan the transcript during your visit.
Note: Unofficial or scanned copies submitted without proper verification will not be accepted.
To submit your GED, first request your official GED diploma and scores through the New York State Education Department. You can visit their site here.
Once you have your official GED documents, including both your GED scores and diploma, you may submit them in person or email them directly to processing@farmingdale.edu.
To submit a Joint Services Transcript (JST), please follow the submission process on their website to ensure your transcripts are sent correctly.
Next, submit your DD214 or Certificate of Eligibility (COE):
- New Students: Submit these documents to the Registrar’s Office, either in person or online.
- Returning Students: You may submit them in person or online.
If you are entering as a non-matriculated student, please note:

Graduate Student Application
The Master of Science in Construction Management at Farmingdale State College (FSC) is designed to prepare professionals for leadership roles in the planning, development, and management of construction projects. The program provides an exceptional and affordable opportunity for advanced study in construction management to qualified graduates of baccalaureate programs in construction management, architecture, engineering, engineering technology, and related fields. With the New York metropolitan area and Long Island serving as major centers of construction activity, the program closely aligns with the regional industry's needs, emphasizing sustainable practices, infrastructure development, and the integration of emerging technologies such as Building Information Modeling (BIM) and green construction methods. Students gain the knowledge and skills necessary to address the complex challenges of today’s construction marketplace at both the regional and national levels.
Students may pursue the degree full-time or part-time, with the possibility of completing it in as few as two semesters. Most courses are scheduled in the evening to accommodate working professionals.

The Master of Science in Nursing Administration prepares registered nurses as administrators and leaders to assume the advanced practice nurse role within an evolving and global healthcare system. Caring for individuals with highly complex health issues requires registered nurses to be educated to provide evidence-based, patient-centered care focusing on health promotion and restoration. The program emphasizes the leadership, administrative, and management skills necessary to coordinate comprehensive care, collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team, and implement strategies that improve the healthcare environment. Concepts related to health promotion, aging, cultural and ethnic diversity, and health policy provide foundational information essential to implementing health management across the age continuum and improved health outcomes of diverse populations. The curriculum for this graduate program uniquely integrates several courses related to older adults with the functional role of nurse administrator.

Matriculated nursing students must provide proof of citizenship or lawful immigration status to participate in certain clinical rotations. Students who are unable to complete clinical placements may not be able to fulfill graduation requirements or qualify for licensure.

The Master of Science Degree in Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs at Farmingdale State College (FSC) is designed to graduate qualified professionals capable of taking leadership roles in the Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs systems that regulate the pharmaceutical, biologics, medical device, cosmetic and food industries in the country. This program will provide an exceptional and affordable opportunity for advanced study in the critical field of Quality Assurance/Regulatory Affairs to qualified graduates of baccalaureate programs in Bioscience, Biology, Chemistry and related fields. The multi-disciplinary program builds on the strengths of the faculty in the Bioscience, Mathematics, Professional Communications and Business Departments. Drawing on these strengths and addressing the industrial needs in the region, the program consists of a foundation of course work concluding with a capstone project or internship placement with a company or organization in this field. This degree can be earned with part-time or full-time study. Courses are generally offered in the evening, weekends or online to provide access for working professionals.

A visiting, or non-matriculated student, is someone who has not been admitted into a degree program at FSC but is taking one or more courses at the College.
You should consider becoming a non-matriculated student if you want to:
- Earn college credits to transfer back to your home institution.
- Take courses required for admission into a specific program.
- Boost your GPA to become qualified for admission to FSC.
- Earn a microcredential
These are just some of the reasons why students attend FSC as visiting, non-matriculated students.

Farmingdale State College graduates who completed their degree within the past five years must still submit an application if they wish to return; however, they may be exempt from the application fee.

Out of State Home Schooled Students:
Requirements for homeschooled students vary by state. If you are not a resident of New York State, please contact the Admissions Office at 934-420-2200.
New York State Home Schooled Students:
Applicants who are New York State residents and currently enrolled in a homeschool program must provide the following documentation:
- Individualized Home Instruction Plan (IHIP) for all four years.
- Letter from the superintendent of your district stating the completion of a program substantially equivalent to a four-year high school course of instruction.
- Annual assessment reports and high school transcript.
Students who are NY State residents enrolled in a high school program that is not recognized by the NY State Education Department of Education must provide a High School Equivalency diploma.
Please visit the New York State Education Department for information on earning a high school equivalency diploma.
Closed or Merged College Transcripts (New York State):
- If the college you attended in New York State has closed or merged, you can still
request your transcripts. The New York State Education Department (NYSED) maintains
a directory to help you locate and request transcripts from these institutions.

For Colleges Outside of New York State:
- Each state has its own process for maintaining records from closed institutions. To
request your transcripts:
- Contact the state’s higher education agency or department of education where the college was located.
- In some cases, a third-party provider (like Parchment, or National Student Clearinghouse) may hold the records.
Closed High Schools:
- If your high school has closed, your academic records may have been transferred to
another school, the local school district, or your state’s education department.
- Contact the school district where the high school was located. If the district cannot help, reach out to your state education department for guidance on where the records are kept.
