Connecting a Mobile Device to Eduroam

As mobile device models and operating systems change rapidly, these instructions are provided as a guide only.  Please contact the Helpdesk with any setup questions.

How to Configure an Apple iOS Device:

  1. On you Apple iOS device, touch the Settings application.  Within the Settings menu, touch Wi-Fi and select eduroam form the list.

  2. Enter your Farmingdale username followed by @farmingdale.edu in the Username field and your password in the Password field.  Then touch Join in the upper right-hand corner to connect to the eduroam network.

  3. In the upper right-hand corner, touch Trust to accept the net-auth-1 External CA certificate.

  4. Verify that you are connected to the eduroam network by looking in the upper left-hand corner of your iOS device for the Wi-Fi icon.

How to Configure an Android Device:

  1. In the Settings app, choose Wireless & Networks
  2. Select Wi-Fi Settings 
  3. Click on the eduroam network

  4. For most Android OS devices, follow these directions:
    For EAP method, select PEAP
    For Identity, enter your Farmingdale username followed by @farmingdale.edu
    For Password, enter your password
    For CA certificate, select Don't Validate

  5. Click Connect

If you have issues connecting to Eduroam via the above method:
Install the Eduroam CAT app from the Google Play Store and follow instructions on the CAT Webpage.
