Farmingdale State College Named a Top "Green" School
The Princeton Review has released its 10th annual Guide to Green Colleges: 2019 Edition, and Farmingdale State College is one of the colleges named in this exclusive survey.

10/21/19 SUNY Introduces Graduate Wages Dashboard
Farmingdale State College graduates are earning excellent salaries 10 years after graduation, according to the new SUNY gradwages dashboard. Gradwages ( https://www.suny.edu/gradwages/) combines academic data from SUNY with wage data from the NYS Department of Labor, to show median wages in specific degree programs. The dashboard shows wages one, two, three, five, and 10 years post-graduation, and allows students to research by field of study and campus.

Farmingdale State College Receives $1 Million Grant from National Science Foundation
The $1 million S-STEM grant is the largest NSF grant ever awarded to the College. It will provide scholarships for academically talented, low-income students in STEM fields. The students must major in either Applied Mathematics or Biology.

Amityville Resident Named to Farmingdale College Foundation
Amityville resident Dr. Veronica Henry has been named to the board of directors of the Farmingdale College Foundation. Dr. Henry recently retired from the College, where she was most recently Chief Diversity Officer and Executive Assistant to the President.

7/17/2019 Farmingdale State and Suffolk County Community College Sign Joint Agreement
This important agreement provides a convenient and affordable upward mobility path for nursing students graduating with an Associate in Science (AS) degree in nursing from Suffolk County Community College. Students admitted to Suffolk's AS in nursing program are guaranteed admission into the FSC Online RN to BS Completion Program, provided they have completed their AS degree at Suffolk and pass their boards to become licensed Registered Nurses.

A new Forbes poll of "Best Value Colleges" places Farmingdale State College in the top 24% of the nearly 700 colleges and universities reviewed for the poll. Only 300 schools were actually ranked.

6/26/19 Howard Beach Resident Named #1 Dental Hygiene Educator in the U.S.
Howard Beach resident Dr. Cristina Casa-Levine, associate professor in the Dental Hygiene Department at Farmingdale State College, has been named American Dental Hygienists Educator of the Year.

Massapequa resident Orville Davis, a senior at Farmingdale State College, has won a $10,000 first prize in the Energy and Environment category at the New York Business Plan Competition. The prize was awarded for an environmentally friendly app Davis designed, called Scrap-it!

2/14/19 Farmingdale State College Gets $300K Grant from National Science Foundation
A National Science Foundation (NSF) grant in the amount of $300,000 has been awarded to Farmingdale State College for a program that will bring minority PhD students in the STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) to the College, where faculty will mentor them as teaching assistants, with the goal of hiring them as full-time faculty.

2/13/19 Corwin Family Donates $25K to Farmingdale College Foundation
Three members of the Corwin family - all of whom graduated from Farmingdale State College and have deep roots in the community - have given a $25,000 scholarship to the Farmingdale College Foundation, to be distributed to Farmingdale students in need of financial aid.
