Retiree Email Account

Farmingdale State College offers free and private email accounts exclusively for our Retirees.  Stay connected with former co-workers and friends when you request an Office 365 email account, which is accessible via the web.

Your new Office 365 account:

  • Will provide you with web access to Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and an Online Microsoft OneDrive to replace your J Drive.
  • 50GB of storage for mail and 1TB of storage for OneDrive retiree accounts.
  • Use your retiree email address as a web-based email account and access your email from anywhere in the world via an Internet connection.
  • All retiree email accounts will follow this format:  username@retiree.farmingdale.edu

To begin the transition, complete the "Request a Retiree Email Account" form, required prior to the issuance of the new retiree Office 365 account.

Retiree Checklist

To access Outlook 365 from any web browser go to https://mail.farmingdale.edu External link

You can also use Office 365 and select Outlook or any other Office apps by going to https://farmingdale.edu/office365 External link.

Your Outlook Contacts will not be moved to your new retiree account.  If you wish to keep them, follow the steps below.

In Outlook on your PC, select File.

Select Open & Export > Import/Export.

Select Export to a file, click Next and select Comma Separated Values.

Make sure to scroll and select the Contacts folder under your account and choose Next.

Confirm where your new contacts file will be saved on your computer, choose Next and Finish.

You can locate the new .csv file and open it with Excel to confirm your contacts are there.

On your new email, you can follow the same steps but choose Import from another program or file.

To notify those individuals who have emailed your old account of your new retiree email address, setup an "Out of Office" message under your old account.  The autoreply will continue until the end of next year, December 31, 2022.

Under Inside My Organization and Outside My Organization, type a message to let others know of your new retiree email address.

Select OK.

Print or forward any emails you wish to retain.

Files from your network share will not be migrated from your J Drive to your OneDrive.  For instructions on how to move your files to Microsoft OneDrive, please watch this video.  They can also be moved to a personal external drive/device.

You will no longer have access to the calendar on your original account along with any shared calendars you had access to.
If you used your account for any business and/or personal matters, you will have to contact the individuals to have your email address changed.

 

Retiree Email FAQ

  • To Provide FSC Retirees with access to a new, free of charge, FSC provided Microsoft Outlook Email and OneDrive account, for use during retirement.  For more information, visit the Retiree Email Policy webpage.
  • All requests will be processed within 30 days.
