Surveying and Site Planning
Effective Spring 2026, through a grant from State University of New York (SUNY) and the New York Power Authority (NYPA), new, non-matriculated students may be eligible for scholarship aid to pursue the Surveying and Site Planning Microcredential at Farmingdale State College (FSC). Classes are scheduled to begin on MARCH 25, 2026.*

This microcredential is ideal for students interested in land surveying, geospatial data collection, and applying geospatial information to property descriptions. It builds foundational skills in geospatial data and computer-aided drafting.
Admission Criteria
Students must meet the admission criteria for the microcredential and not have taken coursework at FSC prior to admission. Eligible students should use this application to apply to this microcredential opportunity.
Outcomes
Students will learn how to interpret and apply geospatial information to facilities layout and infrastructure planning for clean energy projects, including solar array sites, geothermal well layouts, and mechanical systems that support clean energy development.
Successful completion of this microcredential demonstrates a strong understanding of geospatial data and CAD in surveying and clean energy applications.
