Arthur "Art" Corwin, PE '76

Arthur “Art” B. Corwin, PE has dedicated 45 years to a career in engineering and construction. Following graduation from Farmingdale State College in 1976 with an Associates Degree in Construction Technology and Polytechnic Institute of New York with a BS in civil engineering in 1978 he immediately joined Moretrench, a specialty underground subcontractor.  Starting as a staff engineer he worked at Moretrench for the next 40 years. Art was involved in many major construction projects including the Boston “Big Dig”, both the new 2nd Ave Subway line and the extension of the #7 subway. He was active in the EastSide Access project bringing the Long Island Railroad into Grand Central Station. His most memorable project was working at ground zero in the aftermath of 911, both the recovery and reconstruction efforts.

He was elected to the Board of Directors of Moretrench in 1988 and served in various engineering and executive capacities. He became CEO in 2007 and elected chairman in 2010. Following his retirement for Moretrench in 2018 Art accepted an offer to join Railroad Construction Company as president in 2019 where he remained in that position until retiring at the end of 2023

Art currently serves on the board of several for-profit companies and nonprofit organizations.

He spends his time with his wife Ann ‘78, his family, and five grandchildren. He also enjoys playing pickle ball several times a week.
