AOD Counseling & Support Services provides confidential, nonjudgmental support for students who have questions or concerns about alcohol or other drug use. Services focus on harm reduction, wellness, informed decision-making and helping students make choices that align with their personal, academic and wellness goals. Whether you're seeking support for yourself, exploring healthier choices, or simply looking for information, AOD counseling offers a safe and welcoming space for conversation and growth.

What is AOD Counseling?

AOD counseling is a supportive space to explore your relationship with alcohol and other drugs, reflect on your experiences and make informed decisions that feel right for you. There is no one-size-fits-all approach. Counseling is not a punishment. It's an opportunity to gain insight, build skills and feel empowered to make choices that align with your personal, academic and wellness goals while supporting your success in college and beyond.

Meet Jamie Hawkins, LCSW

Jamie Hawkins is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker serving as the Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Clinician for Farmingdale State College. Jamie has been practicing social work since 2010 and has experience across a variety of settings, including inpatient hospitals, domestic violence and sexual assault crisis centers and private practice.

Jamie is committed to ongoing professional development and has completed numerous trainings and certifications, including SMART Recovery, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

Jamie is an eclectic, person-centered clinician who tailors interventions to meet the unique needs of each student. Farmingdale State College's AOD services are confidential, nonjudgmental, and supportive, with a focus on harm reduction, wellness and informed decision-making. Whether you're seeking support for yourself, have questions about alcohol or other drugs, or are looking to make changes that align with your goals, AOD counseling provides a safe and welcoming space for exploration and growth.
