We Can Help Find the Right Financial Aid Package for You.

We participate in federal and state aid programs that help make education affordable for all students. We also provide debt-management counseling and College Work-Study placement services.
Please contact us with any questions or concerns. We are here to assist each of our students. We look forward to helping you.
IMPORTANT RECENT CHANGES TO FEDERAL STUDENT AID PROGRAMS (DIRECT LOAN INTEREST RATES apply to October 1, 2015 (2015-16)
If you are enrolled in at least 6 summer credits wish to apply for Student Loans or
College Work Study for Summer, please review the SUMMER FINANCIAL AID PROCESS and submit Summer Financial Aid Application.
Students must be matriculated in a degree or certificate program to receive federal or state financial aid, including loans. Non-matriculated students are ineligible to receive federal or state financial aid. PLEASE NOTE: If you have graduated from Farmingdale and are planning to continue on for another degree or certificate, you must go through the Admissions Office to apply for acceptance into the new program or you will be considered a non-matriculated student and be ineligible for financial aid.
Students must be enrolled in at least 6 eligible credits per term (Fall, Intersession
and Spring combined, or Summer terms combined) to receive most federal financial aid,
except Pell Grant. Only courses that apply toward the student's current program can be considered in
determining the number of eligible credits for financial aid.
Students are responsible for checking their Farmingdale email and OASIS accounts frequently throughout the year for updates and communication from the Office of Financial Aid regarding the status of their financial aid eligibility and awards.
Students are initially packaged based on the Housing plans indicated on the FAFSA and as full-time students. Once the drop-add period is over and Campus Housing has finalized the room assignments each term, your financial aid will be recalculated and may be revised.
Important Dates and Deadlines
- January 1st - FAFSA on the Web becomes available to begin application for the upcoming year.
- April 1st - Farmingdale State College preferred deadline for FAFSA submission.
- June 15th - Earliest date Verification of Non-Filing letter is available from the IRS.
- July 15th - Recommended to date to have all documents in to ensure your financial aid is applied to your bill before the bill due date.
- June 30th - Last Date to file for TAP (6/30/2015 for 2014-15 and 6/30/2016 for 2015-16)
To receive any federal financial aid, all requested verification documents must be received within 120 days of the student's last date of attendance or from the last date of the academic year, (September 12, 2015 for 2014-15 or September 14, 2016 for 2015-16), whichever comes first. Please note that we must also have received a valid FAFSA result before the end of the term. If the student does not complete the verification process, no federal aid will be awarded.
However, if the student was awarded a Direct Loan, in addition to meeting the verification deadlines, the loan must be accepted by the student AND approved by the federal government before the student's last date of attendance to receive loan funds. It is recommended you have all required documents in and accept your loans by December 1st for Fall or May 1st for Spring to ensure you will meet the required deadlines.
