2023 AAPI Heritage Month
The month of May is commemorative since it signifies an era in history when the first Japanese immigrated to the United States and marks the anniversary of the completion of the transcontinental railroad. Subsequently, Chinese immigrants culminated the majority of the workforce throughout the construction of the Transcontinental Railroad. Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month (AAPI) celebrates, recognizes and honors their tremendous contributions to American culture and society, including science and medicine, literature and art, sports, and recreation, government and politics, and activism and law.
