Adobe Design Essentials Certificate

The Certificate in Adobe Design Essentials is designed to equip learners with practical, workforce-aligned skills in visual communication and digital media using industry-standard Adobe tools. Through hands-on, project-based instruction, participants gain foundational proficiency in graphic design, layout, branding, and introductory video production, preparing them to create professional-quality content for print, web, and social media contexts. The certificate emphasizes applied-learning and portfolio development, making it an accessible pathway for career advancement, upskilling, or entry into creative and communications-focused roles. 

Students can either register for the full Adobe Design Essentials or they can sign up for individual, program specific, modules. The Certificate is only awarded to those who complete the full Adobe Design Essentials program. 

ADOBE CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL (ACP) ALIGNMENT 
This certificate is explicitly aligned to Adobe Certified Professionals exam, preparing participants for optional post-certificate ACP exam in; Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and PremierPro). This certificate itself does not require participants to site for the ACP exam, but instruction is intentionally mapped, so learners are exam-ready upon completion. MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Tevin Foster is a visual storyteller, filmmaker, and digital content strategist with a strong background in creative media and brand storytelling. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Communications from Farmingdale State College, where he built a foundation in design, photography, and visual communication.

While his academic background grounded him in visual theory and design, Tevin is largely self-taught in video production. As his curiosity grew as an artist, he began exploring different creative mediums in search of a way to make meaningful impact and inspire change. Filmmaking ultimately became that medium, combining storytelling, visuals, and emotion to create work that informs, connects, and amplifies real voices.

Tevin currently serves as the Associate Director of Digital Content at Farmingdale State College, where he leads and produces high-impact visual content for marketing, social media, and institutional storytelling. His work spans video production, photography, campaign planning, and creative direction, collaborating with departments across campus to bring ideas from concept to completion.

Outside of academia, Tevin is the founder of Hazy Sun Production, a creative studio focused on commercial projects, branded content, and documentary filmmaking. His professional experience includes weddings, corporate and promotional videos, and socially driven documentaries centered on culture, identity, and community impact.

In the classroom, Tevin brings real-world, self-driven experience into creative software training, helping students understand not just how to use Adobe Creative tools, but why they matter in professional workflows. His teaching approach emphasizes storytelling, experimentation, and creative confidence, encouraging students to grow both technically and artistically.

COST

$1,000 FOR FULL CERTIFICATE or $300 PER MODULE

The Adobe Design Essentials Certificate is available through two enrollment options. Participants may enroll in the full certificate program for $1,000, which includes all modules and results in the awarding of an Adobe Design Essentials Certificate from Farmingdale State College. Alternatively, participants may enroll in individual modules for $300 per module, with each completed module earning a Farmingdale State College proficiency badge.

DELIVERABLES

Portfolio-ready artifact + practice files

Participants will complete hands-on, project-based deliverables throughout the program, including professional layouts, digital graphics, vector designs, and short-form video content. These artifacts are designed to reflect real-world use cases and may be used to demonstrate skill proficiency and support professional portfolios.
