What to Expect at Car-Mencement
- You are very welcome to include family members or friends in your vehicle. The campus will be decorated in your honor, so feel free to decorate your car—and yourself. (One car, per graduate).
- Please arrive an hour prior to the start of your ceremony. University Police will park cars in a lot on campus.

- Student names will be read as they pass the stage and each graduate will be handed a diploma cover. In addition to broadcasting with our public address sound system, we intend to simulcast the ceremony on an AM radio station so that you and your guests can tune in while you participate in the car parade.
- Students who attend Car-Mencement will receive a program, mortar board(cap) and tassel, champagne flute, and more.
- We plan to scroll the name of every graduating senior on the College’s large Route 110 message board.
- Conferring of degrees will be done - this year we expect SUNY chancellor Jim Malatras to be on campus to deliver the magic words.
- Graduates will have the opportunity to post photos through tag box during the ceremony, information will be given the day of the event.
- Bathrooms will be available before the ceremony in the campus center.
