Commencement

 

We want to make sure Commencement is a day to remember for you and your families. Please follow the checklist items below and check back regularly for updates.

 

Intent to Graduate form:

• Please file your Intent to Graduate form with the Registrar's Office by November 20. This must be completed whether you plan to attend commencement or not. Applications for Spring/Summer 2027 will open on January 5, 2027.
• Failure to meet the deadline may result in your name being omitted from the Commencement program and delay you from receiving your diploma.
• Students who receive an Award for Academic Excellence can pick-up a green and white graduation cord by presenting their award letter to the Registrar staff during regular business hours.
• Students who receive Latin honors can pick up a gold tassel at the Registrar during regular business hours.

Caps and Gowns:

• Commencement attire is mandatory for the ceremony. Try on your gown immediately to make sure of proper fit and check to make sure your bag includes the hood, cap, and tassel.
• Cap and gowns will be available for purchase online. Please continue to check the website for updated information regarding Commencement attire.

Tickets:

• Eligible graduates will be permitted 6 guest tickets. Tickets will be issued digitally and sent to your Farmingdale email approximately one week prior to the ceremony. Additional tickets are not available. 

Arrival Time:

• Please arrive at the main entrance of Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum at 8:30 p.m. for check-in. 

Parking:

• Parking is free and no parking pass is required. You may park anywhere at the coliseum. All students and guests will enter through Gate 4 (across from the Marriott).
