Barnes & Noble Campus Bookstore

The College Bookstore, operated by Barnes & Noble Corporation, is located in The Campus Center for the convenience of the entire College community.  The bookstore carries required and recommended textbooks, instructional materials, supplies, clothing and sundry items. The Bookstore also offers a wide selection of items to allow you to show your Farmingdale State College pride.

B&N offers textbooks in digital format and under a textbook rental program.  B&N also offers both new and used textbooks for purchase.  These options allow students to consider all cost alternatives.  

"Textbook Express" is available to students to reserve their textbooks at the bookstore. The option to access "Textbook Express" is available via the online registration process via Oasis and provides details on all available purchase options, such as new, used, digital and rental.

Textbook Rental

Renting textbooks saves an average of 50% when compared to purchasing new, printed textbooks. The bookstore currently accepts most forms of payment when paying for your rental textbook. A credit card is required to be kept on file even if another payment is used. This is used as a security deposit in case the textbook returned is damaged.

You may be eligible to use your financial aid to pay for your textbook rental if you have a credit card on your financial aid account.

The rental period for textbooks begins on the day you pay for the Textbook Rental and continues through the last day of final exams, as shown on your Order Confirmation. All rented textbooks must be returned to the bookstore, in good condition, by the rental return due date. Textbook Rentals returned by mail must be postmarked by the rental due date.
