EV Symposium 2023 Speakers

Joe Gwin Headshot

Joe Gwin – Sales Manager for Roundtrip EV Solutions Inc.

Joe has been instrumental in deploying several of the first battery electric medium and heavy duty vehicles of their kind. From electric school buses, to freight trucks, to garbage trucks…Joe has been working hard to electrify fleets traditionally powered by diesel. The NYC Department of Education and The New York Times are a couple local fleets Joe has worked to electrify.

In 2022 Joe joined Roundtrip EV to lead their sales effort. Roundtrip EV is an independent provider of turnkey solutions for battery electric garbage trucks. Route analysis, trucks, infrastructure, charging, ongoing support, and scaling EV garbage truck deployments for maximum environmental and economic impact is at the heart of what they do. The duty cycle, usage rate, significant pollution, high fuel costs, and high maintenance requirements of diesel trucks in this segment make it ripe for electrification. High upfront cost and complexity of EV adoption are the primary barriers the team at Roundtrip EV are working to eliminate, and Joe is excited about the opportunity to lead in this effort.

Joe relocated from Chicago to Westchester County, NY 5 years ago where he currently lives with his wife and 3 daughters. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Purdue University. His automotive experience dates back to childhood, having worked in his family’s auto body repair shop. This early experience inspired him to become an engineer with the goal of improving vehicle technology for the next generation.
