Take your FILL experience beyond the classroom with Social+ Events - unique outings, activities, and special experiences designed to bring members together while exploring everything our region has to offer.
Social+ Events create opportunities to connect with fellow FILL members in a relaxed and engaging setting. Experiences may include day trips, live performances, museums and cultural attractions, guided tours, seasonal celebrations, group dining, and other memorable excursions planned throughout the year.
These optional events are offered in addition to FILL’s regular courses, lectures, workshops, and social activities. Some Social+ Events may require an additional registration fee to cover transportation, admission, meals, or other event-related costs. FILL members will receive access to exclusive opportunities and discounted member pricing whenever available.
Space may be limited, and advance registration is often required.
The White House Experience
Join FILL for an unforgettable visit to The White House Experience and Museum of Democracy at Long Island University!
Step inside a life-size recreation of some of the most recognizable rooms in the White House, including the Oval Office, Situation Room, and Press Briefing Room. Participants will have the opportunity to sit behind the Resolute Desk, explore the responsibilities of the presidency, and take part in an interactive crisis simulation as members of the president’s Cabinet, White House staff, and press corps.
The experience also includes a visit to the Museum of Democracy, featuring hundreds of fascinating artifacts from American presidential campaigns and political history- from George Washington through the present day. This immersive and educational outing offers a rare opportunity to explore the history, traditions, and decision-making processes of the nation’s highest office.

Join FILL for a magical afternoon at The Argyle Theatre to experience Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's award-winning musical, Mary Poppins!
Based on the beloved books by P.L. Travers and the classic Disney film, Mary Poppins brings the enchanting story of the Banks family to life with unforgettable songs, spectacular dance numbers, breathtaking stagecraft, and plenty of magic. Follow the practically perfect nanny as she teaches Jane, Michael, and their family that "anything can happen if you let it."
