ACE Eligibility

Students applying to ACE at Farmingdale must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen (i.e. NYS DREAM Act student)
  • Be eligible for in-state tuition
  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) application each year and accept any federal or state aid awarded
    • Note: Students from mixed status families are now eligible to apply for NYS financial aid without completing the FAFSA at https://www.hesc.ny.gov/altpath. Students may also reach out to ACE staff to learn more about their options to apply for NYS aid.
  • Receive at least $1 of federal Pell or NYS grant aid (TAP or Excelsior)
  • Be an accepted student at Farmingdale State College
  • Be or plan to be enrolled full-time (15 credits per semester/30 credits per academic year)
  • Be a first-time freshman or a first-semester transfer student with a completed associate degree
  • Agree to participate in required program activities
  • Be or plan to be enrolled in an FSC bachelor's degree program (all majors are eligible)

Note: ACE students cannot be participants in ESO, CSTEP, TRIO, EOP, RAM, or the Honors Program.
