Students using computers

Computer Systems

The Computer Systems department focuses on how to apply technology to a variety of industries. This is home to our tech-savvy students, our future IT professionals, who specialize in established and emerging technologies.

Technology is ever changing. Everything must be done in real-time, faster, more efficiently, and safer. Our goal is to prepare our students to meet the industry's high demands and future challenges.

Outside of the Classroom

We offer opportunities specifically designed to enhance our students learning experience through internships, clubs, workshops, and competitions.

Students can join the Computer Technology Club-ACM, our SWIC Club or our Coding Club 4 ALL to develop a better understanding of the nature and functions of the current and future technologies. The Computer Systems Department supports an Internship Program where a student may spend a semester or summer gaining academic credit while working at a local company. There are several workshops and various competitions throughout the year.

NOTE: That the Computer Science BS Program draws from courses that are primary scheduled during the day. This program is not suitable for night-only, weekend-only, or online-only students. The Computer Programming and Information Systems BS Program may be applicable to night-only students. Please speak with a department advisor for details.
