Use the Homebase Locator tool to find a site near you. Homebase provides New Yorkers experiencing housing insecurity with homeless prevention resources. Anyone seeking Homebase services should call the office in advance to schedule an appointment.
Long Island Community Resources
Family and Children's Association (FCA) operates a 12-bed, gender-inclusive emergency shelter for youth aged 10-20. The shelter is open 24/7 and provides short-term housing assistance and access to case management services.

LICH provides direct care to individuals and families through housing-focused case management. For referrals for services please contact the FSC Homeless Liaison.

Maureen's Haven serves the east end of Long Island and provides support services to individuals experiencing homelessness. This shelter operates during the winter months (November-April), and utilizes volunteer houses of worship.
For information on how to access shelter services, you can call the program at 631-727-6831.
This shelter operates on Mondays throughout the winter season (December-April). They offer guests a meal and a place to stay for the night before serving breakfast in the morning.

"Code Blue" is a New York State mandate that protects individuals experiencing homelessness during dangerous winter weather. When the temperature is forecast to drop to 32°F or below for two or more hours, local social service agencies must ensure that shelters and warming centers are open to all, regardless of sanctions or denials.
