Our Mission

The mission of the Theater at Farmingdale State College is to serve as a dynamic hub for education, inspiration, and community engagement. Delivering a broad spectrum of programming, the Theater will cultivate diverse audiences, foster a lifelong appreciation for the arts, and serve as a cultural centerpiece for Long Island’s communities, families, students, and arts supporters.

Our Facilities

Our 350-seat theater with its proscenium arch stage is an ideal setting for intimate theatrical performances, speaker events, or other cultural arts programs. The Theater is available for rental as well.

History

Roosevelt Hall was named for U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt in 1965. Originally housing a gymnasium, bowling alleys, billiards, and a campus tavern, the 72,000-square-foot facility has undergone a comprehensive $29 million renovation that introduces a reimagined multi-purpose event space, areas for visual-arts exhibits, and the Theater at Farmingdale State College.
