Nursing Practicum in Nepal
FSC is pleased to offer a Faculty Led Nursing Practicum in Nepal!
June 2027 (dates to be announced soon!)
For the second year in a row, FSC is offering NUR 240 (Nursing beyond Borders) in Nepal. Since 2019, Professor Tesi Thomas has conducted medical missions in various regions of Chitwan, Nepal. Building on this experience, she is partnering with Manna Mission, a non-profit organization and subsidiary of Beth-Shalom Bhaisepati Church to offer a distinctive opportunity that fosters both clinical expertise and cultural competence skills. Each day, the FSC Nursing Team will work alongside Manna mission and members of the local community to provide medical and community services to individuals with limited access. These experiences offer students the opportunity to serve others while applying their nursing skills in real-world settings to meet community needs, highlighting the importance of transcultural nursing in providing compassionate and effective care across diverse populations.
The team will reside in the mystical city of Kathmandu, not far from Mt. Everest! Prof. Thomas and local guides will introduce you to the rich culture, history, and cuisine of Kathmandu and other regions of Nepal.
The cost of tuition, housing, excursions in Nepal, and insurance is TBA (airfare and personal expenses not included).
