SSTEM Scholarship Application

Eligibility Requirements

• Be a U.S. citizens or permanent residents
• Be a first-time freshman
• Be accepted into the Applied Mathematics or Bioscience major at Farmingdale State College
• Have a strong academic record in high school
• Have demonstrated financial need as determined by the financial aid office
• Individuals from groups underrepresented in STEM (including those who identify as African American/African-descent/Black, Hispanic/Latino/Latina, Pacific Islander, Native Hawaiian, or Native Alaskan, and/or first-generation students) are encouraged to apply
• Students from Long Island and New York City High Schools are eligible to apply

Retention Criteria

Requirements for continued participation in the program will include:

• Remain a Biology or Applied Math major at Farmingdale State College
• Full-time student status
• Maintain a GPA of 3.0
• Satisfactory academic progress in chosen major
