FSC Student Leadership Council

The Student Leadership Council, meeting regularly with the President, provides a platform for students to share their perspectives, bring ideas to the table, create new opportunities for students across the campus, and help shape the overall campus experience. Council members collaborate with college leadership to offer feedback on initiatives, programs, and services that impact the student community while also making proactive recommendations for the  betterment of the college.

As a student at Farmingdale State College, I am currently pursuing a major in Visual Communications: Graphic Design and a minor in Organizational Leadership. In addition to my academic studies, including being placed on the Dean’s list every semester, I have also had the opportunity to join FSC’s Office of Distance Learning as a graphic designer, where I design advertisements and branded templates for our online programs. Come graduation in the 2027 Fall semester, my experience and qualifications gained at Farmingdale State College will prepare me to enter an increasingly competitive field in graphic design and advertising.

Criminal Justice, Politics, Legal Studies

I am a Criminal Justice major with dual minors in Politics and Legal Studies at Farmingdale State College, and I plan to graduate in May 2027. Through my coursework I have developed a strong interest in the legal system, public policy, and criminal justice reform. I work with the Emerge program through the Empire State Service Corps, where I help under their academic success coaches. In addition, I volunteer as a Crisis Help Counselor, providing support to individuals in distress through active listening and helping connect them with appropriate resources.

In recognition of my academic performance, I have been named to the President’s List. After graduating, I plan to attend law school and pursue a career in the legal field with the goal of advocating for and supporting individuals within the justice system.

Dental Hygiene

I am currently in my third year pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene at Farmingdale State College. In the summer of 2024, I had the opportunity to participate in a research experience where we studied osteosarcoma cells and how they respond to different cellular interactions. I serve as the President-Elect of the Student American Dental Hygienists’ Association (SADHA), where I help expose students in the dental hygiene program to dental products and companies beyond what we typically learn in school. I am also a Resident Assistant in the campus residence halls. I have been placed on the Dean’s List several times for my academic achievements. I plan to graduate in May 2027 and hope to work as a dental hygienist while continuing my education with the goal of attending dental school.

I’m a junior at Farmingdale State College and I major in Professional Communications with a minor in Sport Management. I’ve had the opportunity to conduct research on intercollegiate sports with Dr. Fraina last summer through SURI (Summer Undergraduate Research Institute). I’m currently part of the FURA (Farmingdale Undergraduate Research Association) E-Board as the Event Coordinator. I’m proud to have been on the Dean’s List for three semesters. I plan to graduate in Spring 2027, and look forward to attending graduate school in pursuit of a master’s degree in Sports Marketing. My ultimate goal is to be a marketing manager for a professional sports team.

I am an Applied Psychology major with a minor in Legal Studies at Farmingdale State College. I am the Founder and President of the Pre-Law Society, where I established FSC’s first pre-law organization and led professional development programming, including nationally recognized attorney guest speakers and a keynote Law Gala attended by over 60 legal professionals. I also founded ACTUALIZE Foundation, a registered nonprofit in its early stages focused on leadership development and identity formation through applied psychology. In addition, I serve as a Student Government Senator, contributing to campus policy discussions and institutional initiatives. I have been recognized on the President’s List each semester. I plan to graduate in 2028 before pursuing law school to become an attorney with an interest in family law.

Aviation Administration, Airport Management

I am an Aviation Administration major with a concentration in Airport Management at Farmingdale State College. I serve as a residential assistant and as treasurer of the student chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE). I have also worked alongside the Long Island Educational Opportunity Center in partnership with Farmingdale’s Aviation Department and Professor Louis Scala to help support the development of an entry-level aviation workforce training program designed to expand opportunities for underserved communities on Long Island

Outside of academics, I enjoy playing cricket as a member of the campus Cricket Club. I have earned Presidential List honors multiple times for my academic performance. I plan to graduate from Farmingdale State College in Fall 2027. My long-term goal is to become a commercial pilot while also pursuing a career in airport operations and management.

I am a Senior at Farmingdale State College, majoring in Business Analytics and minoring in Cybersecurity. During my time on campus, I have actively pursued leadership and experiential opportunities that have strengthened my organizational, strategic, and collaborative skills. I currently serve as the Vice-President of the Student Government Association (SGA) and the Vice-President of Stampede. Additionally, I have founded five clubs, creating new opportunities for student engagement and community building. Academically, I’ve been recognized on the Dean’s List multiple times, demonstrating my commitment to academic excellence. As a TRIO student and President of TRIO Leadership Council, I coordinate a variety of events that support TRIO students and foster community and academic success. I intend to graduate in May 2026, completing my degree in three years, and pursue a career as an Operational Data Analyst, using data-driven insights to improve business operations and support innovative organizational solutions.

I am an Aeronautical Science / Professional Pilot major with a minor in Sociology, currently in my junior year at Farmingdale State College. I have had the opportunity to work at the same airport I fly out of, Republic Airport (KFRG), for more than two years. On campus, I am a member of Alpha Sigma Phi, in addition to being a part of the aviation business organization known as Alpha Eta Rho, serving as its Treasurer for two years. I am projected to graduate in Spring 2028. I plan to become a pilot in the USAF and later pursue my goals of becoming an airline pilot.

My name is Muhammad Ahmad Rao and I am a Mechanical Engineering Major (MET) with an expected graduation in Spring 2026. Currently, I am the President of the Muslim Student Association, President of the FSC Cricket Club, and Vice President of FSC’s Chapter Epsilon Pi Tau (EPT). I also hold memberships in other organizations such as Pakistan Student Association, South Asian Student Association, and Pre-Law Society. I’m have been on the President’s list and Dean’s list for multiple semesters throughout my academic career. Currently, I am interning at Koehler Instrument Company and hope to continue to grow in my professional career post-graduation. I’m always eager to learn and in the future, I hope to develop stronger skills that will help advance me in the field of engineering that best works for me.

Nutrition Science

I am a junior majoring in Nutrition Science at Farmingdale State College. Before returning to school, I worked as an electrician, and since coming back I have maintained a strong academic record, earning placement on both the President’s List and Dean’s List each semester. I have gained clinical experience by volunteering in a primary care office and serving as an EMT, I also volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. I currently work as a pharmacy technician and have over three years of experience in pharmacy. I have also shadowed physicians in primary care, plastic surgery, and cardiology.

On campus, I am involved with the Farmingdale Undergraduate Research Association (FURA), the Pre-Health Club, and the newly formed Student Leadership Council. I have received several awards/ honors for rescuing a family from a house fire as a civilian, including the Red Cross Good Samaritan Heroes Award, a Nassau County Civilian Award, and citations from the Town of Oyster Bay. In my free time, I enjoy fitness, weightlifting, and running. I plan to graduate in Spring 2027 and apply to medical school in the 2027 cycle with the goal of becoming a physician.
