Dr. Benito Mendoza

Dr. Benito Mendoza is an Associate Professor in the Computer Engineering Technology Department at New York City College of Technology (City Tech). His research focuses on Artificial Intelligence, with expertise in Machine Learning, Large Language Models, Multi-Agent Systems, and Knowledge Graphs. He leads an NSF-funded project aimed at improving access to food-security services for underserved Hispanic communities by optimizing digital outreach using Artificial Intelligence. Dr. Mendoza is a strong advocate for integrating cultural competence into technology development to ensure socially responsible solutions. Prior to academia, he held key roles as a software engineer and project manager, including work as a Postdoctoral Research Engineer at ExxonMobil.
