What is Respondus Lockdown Browser?

Respondus Lockdown Browser is a stripped down browser that is designed to prevent use of internet, computer and other resources while taking an exam. Does it cost me anything?

Lockdown Browser and Monitor are free for the student to use as it is managed by the Farmingdale State College Campus

What do I have to do to prepare to take a test with Lockdown Browser?

          After following the instructions in the Setting Up Lockdown Browser document above, you should be prepared to take an exam using Lockdown Browser.  Your instructor will have a demo test so that you can check to make sure everything is working properly.

What are the technical requirements for Lockdown Browser?

Operating System

  Windows: 10, 8, 7.

  Mac: MacOS 10.12 or higher.

  iOS: 11.0+ (iPad only). Chomebooks

Memoryand Storage

Windows: 75 MB permanent space on the hard drive

Mac: 120 MB permanent space on the hard drive

Browser Requirements

LockDown Browser is a client application that is installed to a local computer. Both the Windows edition and the Mac edition of the browser are based on Chromium, Google's open source framework. Students do NOT need Google's Chrome browser installed; nor will this version affect a Chrome browser that's already installed.
