Hearing Board Members and Advisors 

The Dean of Students Office encourages faculty and staff to participate in the student conduct process. Participation in this process supports student learning, accountability, fairness, and the overall well-being of the Farmingdale State College community. Members of the FSC Community can participate in the following ways: 

Faculty and Staff

Faculty and staff may serve as Student Conduct Hearing Board Members, reviewing cases involving alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct. Hearing Board Members work collaboratively with student representatives and fellow employees to evaluate information presented during a hearing and determine findings based on College policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrate impartiality and fairness.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all conduct proceedings.
  • Review case materials thoroughly and objectively.
  • Participate in hearings as their schedules permit.
  • Complete required training and professional development.
  • Contribute to an educational and equitable resolution process.

Training
Faculty and staff serving as Hearing Board Members receive training through the SUNY Student Conduct Institute (SCI). Training focuses on topics such as due process, impartial decision-making, confidentiality, student development, and applicable SUNY and Title IX requirements.
