STEP students can participate in experiential, learning-based academies. Academies take place during the fall, spring, and summer times. Please refer to the information below, and feel free to contact the Director for more information.

Class Offerings
| Architecture |
Discover the fundamentals of architecture and explore some key concepts in this stimulating course. You will learn about design principles, building materials, and spatial planning. | Forensic Science |
Step into the world of crime scene investigation as you learn the basics of evidence collection, analysis, and scientific problem-solving. Students will explore fingerprints, fibers, DNA, and more through hands-on labs that reveal how science helps solve real-world cases. A perfect introduction to the methods and mysteries of forensic investigation. |
| Law: Medical Malpractice |
Explore the complexities of medical malpractice law. In this course you'll explore key legal principles, including negligence, patient rights, and the litigation process. Through case studies and practical examples, you’ll gain the skills to navigate this challenging area of law and gain a deeper understanding of medical malpractice and its legal implications. |
| Urban Garden to Table |
Dive into the world of urban agriculture and food science in this engaging, hands-on course. Students will learn how to grow fresh produce in small or unconventional spaces using container gardening, vertical systems, and sustainable techniques. Explore the journey from seed to plate as you study how plants grow, what makes food nutritious, and how harvesting methods affect flavor and quality. |
| Web Design/Programming (10th to 12th grade ONLY) |
Learn the essentials of building modern websites using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Students will explore layout, design principles, and interactive features while creating their own functional, mobile-friendly site. This hands-on course provides a strong foundation in both visual design and basic coding. |
If you are interested, but not already enrolled in the STEP Program, please note you must first be accepted into the STEP program by filling out our program application. Once enrolled in STEP, you can register for the Fall Academies by filling out our STEP Academy Registration.
