STEP Academies
STEP students can participate in experiential, learning-based academies. Academies take place during the fall, spring, and summer times. Please refer to the information below, and feel free to contact the Director for more information.

We are excited to be back for the summer! Here are the details, from dates to class offerings, and registration.

Summer Academies will take place Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Please see the chart listed below for more details.
Bus Information
There will be no bus transportation provided in the summer.

Engineering Design |
The Engineering and Design Academy is a hands-on, high energy program where students explore the world of engineering through real-world challenges, creative problem-solving, and team based projects. Throughout the program, students will learn how engineers design, test, and refine solutions to everyday problems. Activities will include building structures that withstand real-world forces and developing original prototypes. *Week of July 13th to 16th |
| Neuroscience and Psychology Lab |
This hands-on academy introduces students to the science of the brain and human behavior. Students will explore how the brain processes information, regulates emotions, and influences decision-making. Through interactive experiments, simulations, and team-based investigations, participants will examine memory, reaction time, perception, and social behavior. Students will act as “junior neuroscientists,” collecting and analyzing data while gaining exposure to careers in healthcare, research, counseling, and related fields. *Week of July 13th to 16th |
| Digital Forensics |
This course introduces students to the fundamentals of digital forensics and the role it plays in cybersecurity, criminal investigations, and information protection. Students will explore how digital evidence is identified, collected, preserved, and analyzed from computers, mobile devices, and online environments. Through hands-on activities and case-based scenarios, participants will learn about file systems, data recovery, basic investigative tools, cybercrime trends, and ethical and legal considerations related to digital investigations. *Week of July 20th to July 23rd |
| Battle Bots Camp |
Join in the assembly, modification, and competition of your own battlebot. In this immersive two-week camp, you will assemble a robot and modify it to complete challenges as you compete with other groups. Modifications will be made using various materials, including the design of custom 3D-printed devices. *2 week academy Week of July 20th to 23rd AND July 27th to July 30th |
