The Department of English and Humanities offers a broad range of courses that fulfill the academically rigorous and comprehensive General Education requirements that are required for graduation. Areas of study include composition, literature, communication, interdisciplinary humanities, and philosophy.
Throughout history, people all over the world describe human experience through literature, religion, art, music and language. Our students learn how people process and document the human experience.
We offer literature courses in English, American, World, Women, Bible, Film and so much more. Students have opportunities to study both classic, and modern literature as well as poetry, fiction, drama, creative writing, and special topics in literature, art, film and theater from other cultures.
FSC students created The Dale News to provide information and insight into their experience at FSC through this online and print newsletter. The tagline is 'News from Farmingdale State College, by the Students, for the Students.'
