Accessibility Training

SUNY has entered into a third year agreement with Deque Systems Inc. to provide accessibility training across all SUNY campuses. Deque University is an online digital accessibility training platform that provides comprehensive training on a wide variety of topics including web accessibility, document accessibility, accessibility management, testing, disability etiquette and more.

Deque University is offering Farmingdale State College students, faculty, and staff another year of free, unlimited access to its Full Curriculum package. Learn Web accessibility basics, how to make Word and PDF documents accessible, and Disability Etiquette Basics, among other useful topics.

Take advantage of this comprehensive training platform, Farmingdale State College Full Curriculum expires on August 19, 2023.

The U.S. Department of Education and the ADA National Network announced the launch of a 20-part digital accessibility video series geared towards the education community and helpful to all users of technology. This series is hosted in partnership with the ADA National Network and offers practical “how to” information to assist with compliance such as how people with disabilities use technology, applicable Federal laws, and how to identify, address, or avoid many technological barriers that interfere with the ability of parents and students with disabilities fully to participate in educational opportunities.
