The Aeronautical Science – Professional Pilot Bachelor of Science degree at Farmingdale State College offers affordable, high-quality, and career-focused aviation education in the Northeast Region. Our Aviation Flight Center operates a fleet of 18 aircraft and features state-of-the-art simulators. Our Professional Pilot program is accredited by the Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI) and provides training for entry-level pilot positions in air transportation, corporate aviation, or the government.

Students graduate with a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating as well as an FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) Certificate, and can earn an FAA Multi-Engine Certificate. Each graduate also receives an endorsement for the Restricted Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (R-ATP), which significantly reduces the airline requirements for pilots by 500 hours. The R-ATP is a great way to accelerate your aviation career and enhance your chances of landing an airline position.
