Congratulations to Jason Benitez for being a part of the first class of 23 SUNY students to take part in the Pre-Medical Opportunity Program initiative, launched by SUNY Chancellor Jim Malatras. The program is designed to ensure EOP students obtain equal access to SUNY’s medical programs. “SUNY's Pre-Medical Opportunity Program is designed to break the trend of low student diversity amongst the nation's medical schools, which leaves behind students from the most economically-disadvantage households from pursuing a graduate medical degree”.

To be chosen for the program, candidates must be a current EOP sophomore or junior in a pre-med program, maintain a minimum GPA of 3.2 and have completed two semesters of general chemistry and biology. Congratulations Jason. We wish you the best of luck!
