Farmingdale State College is proud to recognize Pride Month, joining institutions and communities across New York and the nation in celebrating the LGBTQ+ community while reaffirming its commitment to inclusion, equity, and belonging.

This year's theme, "For All of Us," reflects the importance of collective responsibility in building a community where every individual is seen, valued, and supported. The theme underscores a shared allegiance to ensuring that progress and opportunity are accessible to all members of a society, particularly those whose voices have historically been marginalized. Pride month pays tribute to the resilience, courage, and immeasurable contributions to shape and strengthen our campus, workplace, and communities.

FSC embraces its diverse community as a core strength that enhances learning, fosters innovation, and deepens understanding across the campus community. We remain driven and invested in advancing our campus culture where students, faculty, and staff feel empowered to express their authentic identities and fully participate in campus life.

What is Pride Month?

Pride Month is a month-long celebration that honors the LGBTQ+ community and their unique stories, lived experiences, challenges, vibrant contributions enduring spirit, and positive impact on our campus and beyond. Throughout the month, people come together to recognize the history, struggles, and achievements of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and other identities. Pride Month encourages inclusivity, acceptance, empathy, understanding, and shines a spotlight on the significant contributions and vibrant diversity that LGBTQ+ individuals bring to society. It's also an opportunity to promote equality, raise awareness through ongoing challenges, and inspire allyship through events, conversations, and acts of solidarity.
