Jacob LaFleur, a current CPIS student at FSC, believes BCS450 was a class that changed his life! BCS450, Principles of COBOL, is a class that gave him the knowledge needed to start a career in mainframe environment programming in COBOL. He experienced first-hand that the demand for COBOL programmers is high since companies were reaching out to him with job opportunities and were looking for additional fellow students! Being accepted to work at Progressive, a Fortune 100 company, on their mainframe development team, was a huge honor and achievement for Jacob. Without the support of FSC and his COBOL professor, this opportunity would never have happened! Jacob wanted to share this success and recommends that anyone interested in programming in the mainframe environment should take the COBOL course, as well as those who want a greater scope of job opportunities.
