Indigenous Peoples Across Borders: An International Film Documentary
International Film Documentary Screening and Q&A with Doris Loayza
The Farmingdale State College community is invited to join the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusive Excellence (DEI) and the Department of Modern Languages for a special screening of an international film documentary by Doris Loayza, followed by a Q&A with the filmmaker and light refreshments.
Doris Loayza is a Quechua language and Andean culture educator, activist, multimedia producer, director, field producer, and Quechua translator for film and television projects. A native speaker of Ancash-Conchucos Quechua, she brings valuable insight into Indigenous language, culture, identity, and storytelling.
This event offers an opportunity to experience international documentary filmmaking, engage in cross-cultural dialogue, and learn more about the perspectives and experiences reflected in Loayza's work. Following the screening, attendees are encouraged to participate in a conversation with the filmmaker.
Open to the entire Farmingdale State College campus community.
Light refreshments will be served.
This event is funded through the SGA - Student Government Association.
