Constructive Dialogue Institute Student Leadership Training
On Tuesday, October 27, the Office of Community and Civic Engagement will host a civic discourse training for student leaders, led by the Constructive Dialogue Institute (CDI). CDI is a national nonprofit that draws on research in psychology and education to help campuses build a culture of open, respectful dialogue. Through interactive exercises and real-world scenarios, participants will learn how to listen with curiosity, engage across differences with respect, and guide difficult conversations with skill. Student leaders will leave ready to bring these practices back to their organizations, classrooms, and communities.
How faculty and offices can help:
- Faculty teaching courses aligned with the Civic Discourse General Education requirement are especially encouraged to share this opportunity with their students.
- Academic departments, student affairs offices, and campus partners are asked to promote the training through their own channels so it reaches as many students as possible.
