Distance Learning Presents: Better Groups Faster: Optimizing Group Assignments with TopicTeamUp

Instructors often divide students into groups for presentations and other collaborative activities, but identifying groups of students with similar interests can be time-consuming when done manually. TopicTeamUp is a free online tool developed by Professor Teague that automates and optimizes this process by generating groups and assigning topics based on student preferences and instructor settings.  
 
In this workshop, Professor Teague will demonstrate how to use TopicTeamUp for a variety of course activities. Attendees will learn how to collect and upload student preferences, set the number and size of groups, and optionally fine-tune how students are grouped and which topics are assigned. Since TopicTeamUp is an evolving project, participant feedback and suggestions for new features are highly encouraged.
