
Los Chankas Qesquentos's "DANZA DE TIJERAS" Native American Heritage Month
Celebrate Native American Heritage Month with a Spectacular Cultural Performance!
Join us for an unforgettable afternoon honoring Native American Heritage Month through the dynamic artistry of the Peruvian Danza de Tijeras (Scissors Dance), performed by The Chankas of Peru. This traditional Andean dance is a dazzling display of athleticism, rhythm, and cultural storytelling, offering a unique glimpse into the rich heritage of Indigenous communities from Peru.
We are excited to welcome renowned multidisciplinary artist and educator, Denise "Weetahmoe" Silva-Dennis, who is known for her figurative paintings and traditional beadwork. Her work is featured in many galleries and museums, including Parrish Art Museum and Southhampton Arts Center.

The Artists & Lecturers Program, the Office of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusive Excellence, and the Modern Languages Department is honored to present:
