Dr. Roshanak Keyghobadi Research Colloquia

Roshanak Keyghobadi, Ed.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Visual Communications Department at Farmingdale State College – SUNY, where she teaches courses in Graphic Design, Typography, Histories of Graphic Design, Interaction Design, and Design Thinking. This presentation explores the rich histories of graphic design with a focus on the pivotal yet often overlooked contributions of Iranian women. It highlights how these designers have navigated cultural, political, and artistic landscapes to shape visual communication in Iran and beyond. By examining their creative practices and lasting influence, the study aims to broaden perspectives on global design histories and celebrate the resilience and innovation of Iranian women in the field.
