Getting Started in the Cannabis Industry

Queens College and Farmingdale State College present an introductory cannabis industry workshop on June 11 and June 18, 2022. 

This non-credit-bearing workshop, Getting Started in the Cannabis Industry, is designed to provide an introductory understanding of the cannabis industry in New York State.

Participants will gain insight into the cannabis industry through presentations by distinguished faculty and will have the opportunity to meet with leaders in the cannabis community, as well as successful entrepreneurs. They will also learn about the FSC Cannabis Production and Management Certificate Program and will earn a combined QC and FSC cannabis micro-credential digital badge at the end of the course. Space is limited to 25 participants. 

Workshop topics include: 

• An introduction to the U.S. cannabis industry
• The role that medical marijuana played in industry development
• The legal environment for the Cannabis industry in NYS
• Management and marketing of a cannabis business
• Economics of cannabis
• Cannabis plant science and production
• How to enter and advance in the cannabis industry
