Faculty Information for DSC Testing Services

See the Below Changes to Alternate Site Testing Procedures for Disability Services Center

We have updated our testing procedures since we have returned to campus.

  • In past semesters (before the COVID transition to remote learning), students with disabilities would sign up to take exams in the DSC office by completing a yellow or pink form. The student would bring this form to class with them prior to an exam, and the course instructor would then sign the form to indicate that they confirmed the exam details with the student.
  • The DSC is no longer using paper forms to complete this process. We were successful in having students submit their testing forms electronically during our shutdown and will continue to do so now that we have returned to campus.

The process to sign up to take an exam with the DSC is now as follows:

  1. The student must complete our Request for Testing Appointment Form at least 3 days prior to an exam at this link: Link to Alternate Site Testing Form for Students with Disabilities
  2. Once the form is submitted, Instructor should automatically receive an email with the testing appointment information indicated by the student.
  3. The Testing Coordinator, Debra Ruland, will review the appointment request and reach out to the course instructor to confirm the details of the exam as indicated on the form.

Please confirm the date indicated by student, the class time of the exam, and any materials indicated on the testing form via email with Debra.

NOTE: The DSC Testing Center is available to provide accommodations to students for IN-PERSON EXAMS ONLY.

For REMOTE EXAMS administered on Blackboard, please communicate with Debra to learn how instructors can extend the time allotted to students, if you have a student who is approved for extra time on exams.

Please reach out to us in the Disability Services Center with any additional questions or concerns.
