Certified Nursing Assistant
Farmingdale State College’s Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Career Training Program,
offered in collaboration with the Office for Pre-Health Professions Advisement (PHPA) and the Long Island Educational Opportunity Center (LIEOC), prepares individuals to enter the healthcare workforce with the skills, confidence,
and professional readiness required for today’s patient care environments.
Designed as a workforce-focused, hands-on training experience, this program blends foundational healthcare knowledge with applied clinical practice to prepare participants for entry-level roles in hospitals, long-term care facilities, and home health settings.
Participants develop both the technical competencies and human-centered care skills essential to delivering safe, compassionate, and effective patient support.

COURSE INFORMATION
CNA Program Schedule
The CNA program begins on Monday, January 4th and runs for 3 weeks. Classes will meet in person for classroom/lab instruction, followed by an off-campus clinical experience during the third week.
Week 1: January 4th- 8th from 8:30am - 4:30pm & January 9th from 9:00-2:00pm
Week 2: January 11th- 15th from 8:30am - 4:30pm & January 16th from 9:00-2:00pm
Week 3: January 18th- 22nd Off-Campus Clinical Facilitation — 30 clinical hours
Students must be available for all scheduled class, lab, and clinical dates. Students are required to attend at least 90% of scheduled class and lab sessions to be eligible to participate in the clinical portion of the program.
Program Cost and Additional Expenses
The CNA program cost is $2,250 and includes classroom instruction, skills lab instruction,
clinical facilitation, instructional materials, lab supplies, exam preparation, and
a certificate of completion. Students may be responsible for additional costs, including
but not limited to uniforms/scrubs, clinical shoes, CPR/BLS certification, physical
exam, TB testing, immunization records, background check, drug screening, state certification
exam fees, and transportation to the clinical site. Additional clinical site requirements
may apply.
Payment Plan Option
A payment plan is available for students enrolling in the CNA program, but it is only
available for students who register by October 15th. The first payment is due at the
time of registration to reserve your seat. The second payment is due by November 1st,
and the third and final payment is due by December 1st. After October 15th, the payment
plan option will no longer be available, and students must pay the full remaining
program balance at the time of registration.
