Certified Nursing Assistant

Farmingdale State College’s Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Career Training Program, offered in collaboration with the Office for Pre-Health Professions Advisement (PHPA) and the Long Island Educational Opportunity Center (LIEOC), prepares individuals to enter the healthcare workforce with the skills, confidence, and professional readiness required for today’s patient care environments.
Designed as a workforce-focused, hands-on training experience, this program blends foundational healthcare knowledge with applied clinical practice to prepare participants for entry-level roles in hospitals, long-term care facilities, and home health settings.
Participants develop both the technical competencies and human-centered care skills essential to delivering safe, compassionate, and effective patient support.
CAREER READINESS & OUTCOMES
Beyond technical training, the program includes guided support in:
- Resume development and interview preparation
- Job search strategies within the healthcare sector
- Understanding career pathways in allied health

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Ability to meet clinical and health clearance requirements.
