Red Watch Band

The mission of the Red Watch Band is to provide students of the college/high school community with the knowledge, awareness, and skills to prevent toxic drinking deaths and to promote a student culture of kindness, responsibility, compassion and respect.

Over 1,825 college students between the age of 18 and 24 die each year from alcohol-related unintentional injuries (NIAA).

These deaths are preventable. Red Watch Band teaches students accurate information about the dangers of alcohol use and knowing when, where and how to get help when every second counts.

Where It All Started

Red Watch Band originated on March 15th, 2009 at Stony Brook University, and was launched nationally in May of 2009. Farmingdale State College began implementing these evidence-based trainings in 2018.
