The RAM Program is extremely excited to welcome the newest members of the RAMily, Allie McDonough!
Allie is eager to re-enter the world of higher education and work directly with students to help achieve their goals both in their academic careers and beyond. She grew up in Amityville, New York and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from SUNY Old Westbury. She then went on to receive a Master of Science in Social Research and Public Policy from Hunter College while simultaneously serving a three-year term as a Trustee on the Amityville Board of Education. She previously worked in the RAM Program at SUNY Old Westbury before working as a Research Analyst in the corporate world, but is excited to get back to working with students in the college setting. Allie’s research passions throughout her education and professional career have included the lack of teacher diversity in the United States and the ways in which language barriers affect the use of early childhood education programs. She is very passionate about breaking down institutional barriers to create the best possible educational opportunities for all students. When she is not working, you can find her enjoying a cup of coffee (or two) and hanging out with her daughter Clara and her dog Bluey! |
Allie will join the team as one of RAM’s second-year Academic Counselors!
