This Valentine’s Day, four Farmingdale State College (FSC) alum couples reminisce about their student romances and share post-graduation updates.

Cathy Tam, ’13, and Anthony Cimino, ’13

Tam, from Queens, NY, was an FSC Aviation Administration major who now works as a senior analyst for JetBlue Airways. Cimino, from Westchester, NY, was in the Pro-Pilot Program and now works as a senior safety analyst for a federal government contractor. “We joke, one [of us] covers the ground and one covers the air,” said Tam. The couple, who worked together at JetBlue Airways from 2014 to 2022, now lives in Orlando, FL.

Tam and Cimino met through a mutual FSC friend their graduating year. For their first date they, “went across from campus to the Melting Pot for dessert,” said Cimino.

“Early on in our relationship, Cathy came along for a ‘ride along’ during my flight trainings,” Cimino shared. “At the time we were allowed to take fellow students in the back seat for lessons and, if memory serves, I believe she came twice with my instructor and I.”

Tam and Cimino will celebrate one year of marriage this month!

Megan Eiseman, ’18, Caleb Fiedtkou, ’17

Eiseman, from Seaford, NY, was an FSC Sport Management major with a minor in Business Management who now works as an administrative assistant at Altice USA. Fiedtkou, from Bethpage, NY, was a Security Systems student at FSC before joining XG Consultants Group, Inc. as a supervisor, quality control specialist. The couple now lives in Seaford, NY.

“We met in August of 2014 at Nold Hall before one of our cross-country practices,” said Eiseman. “Our favorite memories were attending the Farewell Ball or Winter Gala with our teammates.

“We are still runners, now part of the Long Island running community,” she added.

For their first date, “We went to the movies to watch The Maze Runner and had Panera Bread after,” said Eiseman. The couple, who has been together for nine years, got engaged in August 2023 and is now planning a September 2025 wedding!

Nicole Farber, ’12, and Kevin Curtis, ’11

Farber, from Oakdale, NY, a senior administrative assistant at Naval Nuclear Laboratory, and Curtis, from Riverhead, NY, a chemical operator for Sabic, were both Science, Technology, & Society (STS) majors at FSC. They now live in Glenmont, NY with their 2-year-old Golden Retriever, Pacey.

The pair first met in 2007 in Knapp Hall, “getting our laundry and meal cards,” said Farber. "We had every class together and would always hang out before our day started. On the days we had three back-to-back classes, we would get lunch together--but we were just friends then. Our very first date was at a steakhouse in Kevin’s hometown in 2015 for Valentine’s Day.”

Farber and Curtis were also active in FSC sports together. They were recently inducted into FSC’s Athletic Hall of Fame, with Farber still holding 10 school records for softball and Curtis still holding three school records for baseball.

“We arranged our schedule to be exactly the same so we could help each other out when we would miss classes because of ball, but it was really just an excuse to spend more time together,” said Curtis. “But all the time we would spend before, during, and after our classes, and before practice and games, holds our favorite memories together.”

Farber and Curtis will celebrate two years of marriage this March!

Tina Caparco, ’12, and Doug Bouchelle, ’12

Doug Bouchelle, from Copiague, NY, was a Visual Communications: Art + Graphic Design student at FSC before joining its Marketing and Communications Department as graphic design manager. Tina Caparco, now Tina Bouchelle, from Massapequa, NY, was in FSC’s Dental Hygiene Program and is now a registered dental hygienist. They live in Massapequa, NY, with their two children, Aria, 5, and Logan, 2.

The Bouchelles met for the first time at a pizzeria just off campus on Melville Road.

“We went for a dinner date to Don Ricardo’s in Babylon,” Doug Bouchelle said of their first date. “Food was a central theme in our early relationship. In an unfortunate turn, both University Pizza and Don Ricardo’s are no longer open. Hopefully unrelated to our visits,” he joked.

Doug Bouchelle was a frequent patient in FSC’s Dental Hygiene clinic while Tina Bouchelle was studying. The time together, “was well worth it,” he said.

In 2011, the couple decided to take an entry level watercolor course together at FSC. “It was an awesome experience for both of us. Some of the work is still on display in our house,” said Doug Bouchelle.

The Bouchelles have been together for 15 years and will celebrate their ninth wedding anniversary this May!
