Farmingdale State College (FSC) is pleased to announce that Rohan Howell has been appointed Vice President for Enrollment Management effective January 31, 2024. Reporting to FSC President John S. Nader, PhD, Rohan will take senior leadership of the Division of Enrollment Management. 

A member of the President's Cabinet, in this newly created role, Howell will provide strategic direction for the development and implementation of a data-informed strategic enrollment plans, reflecting higher education trends and campus goals, with particular focus on market analysis and positioning. FSC has long been a SUNY leader in student enrollment. Howell will work with campus departments to recruit new student populations from Long Island and across New York State.  

Howell most recently served as Dean of Admissions at SUNY Maritime College since 2016. In this role he was responsible for developing and implementing the College’s enrollment plan, overseeing undergraduate and graduate admissions, scholarships, and programs that expand access to higher education for students from diverse and underserved backgrounds. While at SUNY Maritime, he served as Chair of the Academic Board and recently was named Principal Designated School Official in support of international students.  

“Rohan brings a wealth of experience as a proven leader in enrollment strategies from public and private institutions, including several in the SUNY system,” said FSC President John S. Nader, PhD. “I am confident his thoughtful and innovative approach will raise FSC’s profile among diverse student populations and new markets. We are excited to have him on board.” 

His earlier experience includes appointments as Director of Undergraduate Admissions at William Paterson University; Director of Admissions, Recruitment, and Retention at SUNY Orange; and Senior Associate Director of Admissions at Montclair State University. He served as Acting Dean of Admissions and Assistant Dean of Admissions at Stony Brook Southampton, where he launched the office of undergraduate admissions from inception, promoting the new Southampton Campus and its unique programs.

Howell received an MBA in General Management, a BS in Airway Science Management, and a Post-Masters Certificate in Total Quality Management, all from Dowling College.
