Dan Polner has joined Farmingdale State College as the Executive Director of the Broad Hollow Bioscience Park, Inc. Dan is responsible for over 100,000 square feet of bioscience facilities and monitoring the progress of the incubator tenant companies, assessing their needs for economic development program resources, and identifying additional resource needs and opportunities while providing guidance and support to the principals as they execute their strategic and business plans. Dan is also responsible for integrating the faculty and students of Farmingdale State College into the programs and activities of the incubation programs and companies.
“I am thrilled to have Dan Polner joining the team at BHBP at this critical stage,” says Gregory O’Connor, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. “With Dan’s experience and strategic vision, we are prepared to breathe new life into this program and realize the tremendous potential for the benefit of Farmingdale State College and the regional economy. Our entire campus community is excited to see what’s next for the bioscience park as we chart a course forward for this truly transformative initiative.”
Prior to coming to Farmingdale, Dan served in a similar capacity at Stony Brook University as their Incubator Advocate for the Office of Economic Development. Before Stony Brook, he had a 20-year career as a financial specialist providing investment banking advice to mid-size companies and financial sponsors.
"My vision is to expand the Broad Hollow Bioscience Park into an incubation and accelerator platform that will provide multiple forms of support to regional bioscience companies from early-stage R&D through Phase 1/2 FDA-approved clinical studies,” says Polner. “I want to give students at FSC exposure to potential career opportunities in the bioscience sector with the goal of creating economic impact and maintaining high-paying bioscience jobs on Long Island."
Dan received his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Accounting, and Engineering from The Wharton School and an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Dan resides in Bellport Village.
