No one likes heading off to campus during a snowstorm, only to learn as they are skidding down the road that classes have been cancelled or delayed.

To help keep students and staff safe, FSC campus police are urging all members of the campus community to sign up for RAVE, FSC’s emergency notification system. Once registered, RAVE provides users with text messages alerting them to any changes in the college’s schedule due to safety conditions, incident or circumstance.

“RAVE is a way to keep up to date,” according to FSC University Police Investigator Keri Hauff, adding that RAVE alerts are activated before news is posted on social media or sent via email. “It notifies people of weather-related emergencies and other safety conditions.”

In addition to RAVE messages during an emergency, FSC also provides campus-wide e-mails, messages on both the FSC homepage and mobile website, the official Farmingdale State College social media channels, notifications to select media outlets, and any systems individual departments have in place.

An FSC user ID and password are necessary to enter the RAVE site which provides enrollment instructions.
