Farmingdale graduates rank fourth best among SUNY's 64 campuses, following only SUNY Maritime, SUNY Downstate Medical, and Binghamton University. Farmingdale was the highest rated on Long Island.

SUNY Gradwages combines academic data from SUNY with wage data from the New York State Department of Labor Unemployment Insurance System, to show median wages in specific degree programs. The dashboard shows wages one, two, three, five, and 10 years post-graduation, and allows students to research by field of study and campus.
Examples of FSC projected wages by degree program, fifth and tenth year, include:

Farmingdale's most recent survey of alumni – 2018 -19 – reveals that 90% of baccalaureate degree recipients are employed either full- or part-time within six months of graduation. Of that group, 81% are working in a job related to their degree.
A recent U.S. News poll – which ranked Farmingdale #11 among public colleges in the North region – also named the College a "Best Value" (#12).
In CollegeFactual.com's "Best Colleges for the Money" category, FSC ranked in the Top 20 out of 115 New York State schools.
LendEdu rated Farmingdale #1 among SUNYs, and the top-rated public school in New York, in its College Risk-Reward Indicator study, which measured best return on investment.
