Miller Place Resident Wins SUNY Award for Student Excellence

Miller Place resident Lily Moldan, a senior Criminal Justice: Law Enforcement Technology major at Farmingdale State College, has won SUNY's coveted Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence.

In addition to her stellar success in the classroom, Lily is an integral student leader on campus. Working with the Dean of Students office, Lily helped shape campus orientation procedures and led campus initiatives around issues of Title IX compliance.

The Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence was created in 1997 to recognize students who have best demonstrated, and been recognized for, the integration of academic excellence with accomplishments in the areas of leadership, athletics, community service, creative and performing arts, campus involvement or career achievement.

"Our award recipients emerged from their campus this year as the top scholars, athletes, performers, and achievers, as well as a tremendous source of inspiration," said SUNY Chancellor Kristina M. Johnson. "The students being recognized made the choice to be leaders on their campus, prioritize their studies, and serve their communities. Congratulations to this year's awardees, and I applaud you for pursuing excellence in all that you do."
