Maria Randazzo-Davis, a business management adjunct associate professor at Farmingdale State College, has won the State University of New York's coveted Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Adjunct Teaching.
"Adjunct faculty are a critical component as SUNY seeks to ensure access, completion, and success for all students, and those honored with this year's award are the best of the best," said SUNY Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher. "Congratulations to those faculty receiving this award, which recognizes continued excellence in providing SUNY students with effective, motivational instruction that prepares them for success in college and career."
Randazzo-Davis joined the School of Business at Farmingdale in 1999, specializing in international business and management courses. Her educational background includes a PhD in Business Administration from Northcentral University; an MBA from New York Institute of Technology; and a BS in Management from SUNY Old Westbury.
Randazzo-Davis has 20 years of experience in local industry, having held the positions of Director of Marketing for Suffolk County at SMR Management Corp., and account executive at 21st Century Marketing.
Randazzo-Davis says of her teaching and learning goals: "My objective is to have students go well beyond understanding of subject content into the realities of application. Today's students value an education that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to achieve successful results, measured by their ability to transfer their skills into career opportunities."
